Breast Lifts (Mastopexy)
A breast lift, or mastopexy, removes excess skin and tightens your surrounding tissue to reshape and support your breasts. Breast lifts are also commonly used to correct enlarged areolas.
Whether your breasts have begun to sag due to aging, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight fluctuations, a breast lift surgery can restore your self-confidence and a more youthful figure. Typically an outpatient procedure, a breast lift can be completed in less than three hours on average without an overnight hospital stay.
If your breasts seem too large for the rest of your body causing you discomfort or medical problems such as neck, shoulder, and backaches, a breast reduction surgery can help you remove excess breast fat, glandular tissue, or skin to reduce your breast size effectively. The average breast reduction surgery can take anywhere from 2-5 hours, though it can occasionally take longer than that. During this type of procedure, Dr. Sofonio will likely make an incision around your nipple and then downward along your breasts in the shape of a keyhole. You may need to wear a surgical bra and drainage tubes during recovery.
