November 1, 2007
Studies reveal that it takes a tenth of a second for an individual to form an impression of us based on facial appearance-and longer exposures don’t significantly alter that first opinion. Imagine the challenges-both physical and psychological-for people requiring reconstructive or cosmetic surgery due to burns, aging, wounds, trauma or accidents. Fortunately – because of your timely and expert intervention – more residents of Inland Southern California experience the joy of knowing they look their best.
It is for this reason that I am pleased to acknowledge and celebrate you during November’s National Healthy Skin Month. This special time highlights your incredibly important work that helps us maintain a higher quality of life. We salute and thank you for your healing efforts that boost the confidence of everyone you touch.
UC Riverside is in the midst of planning a four-year medical school, and we look to you as our role model of what a plastic surgeon must be – an individual who is patient centered and focused on quality and outcomes. You have worked tirelessly to transform health care, making possible optimal health for everyone. We will continue your visionary path of excellence in our medical school.
Many thanks to you and your staff for all you do to make lives more enjoyable. Once again, congratulations during this very special month of celebration.
